My Little Bird

Oh, little birdie,

Where art thee?

There is not a flutter from you,

You seem invisible to me.

These senses of mine continue,

To be in your reverie.

Oh! come now, come near,

And play me your symphony.

You’ve crossed the different continents,

You’ve crossed the various seas.

You’ve won wealth and status,

Life is yours, as you please.

Your song, however,

Misses a sweet little note.

It needs a little passion,

It requires love to stay afloat.

You may try and ignore it,

But will long for heart’s company.

I hear it beat faster,

It yearns desperately to be free.

Give me your heart little bird,

Embrace me with your wings.

Let our hearts beat together,

Our fingers entwined like strings.
